The Beaverton School District, near Portland, will almost $3 million—or between $12,000 and $14,000 per bus—to add equipment to 192 school buses that will cut air pollution and dangerous exposures to the particulates in diesel exhaust. Just after 7:30 this morning, three vehicles—including a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler—crashed and caught fire on Dallas’ LBJ Freeway. Two of the drivers were hospitalized for treatment.
